Out in Alaska is a small company founded by avid Alaskan explorer Tim Stallard. Tim worked for nine years directing the outdoor education program at the University of Alaska and has taken thousands of students from age 16 to 80 backpacking, camping, mountain biking, dog mushing, mountain climbing, ski touring, snowshoeing, canoeing, kayaking, and rafting all over Alaska in every month of the year!

He has traveled to more than thirty countries, but is always glad to return to the vast, beautiful landscapes of Alaska. He is excited to share this special place with adventurous and fun, open-minded visitors.

Among many outdoor and athletic accomplishments, Tim successfully climbed Denali (Mt. McKinley) the tallest mountain in North America in 1996. In 1998 and 1999 Tim and his teamates placed second (taking 5.5 days) in the Alaska Mountain Wilderness Classic Ski Race that traverses 150 miles of rugged mountains and glaciers. Tim was a competitive swimmer growing up and was awarded "Rookie of the Year" his freshman year of college before moving to Alaska to pursue a life of adventure. Before becoming an outdoor educator, Tim spent four summers as a forest fire fighter working in remote areas of Alaska.

When not guiding trips, in the winter Tim organizes a series of elite Cross Country ski races that are used to select Alaska's Junior National ski team each year.  In the summer he organizes efforts in Anchorage to control recently arrived invasive weeds, which are threating Alaska's pristing natural environments.

In his spare time, Tim loves to explore Alaska by cross country skis, Telemark skis, white water kayak, canoe, raft, sea kayak, mountain bike, bush plane, and on foot.
