TRIP 11: Denali and Kenai Fjords Fall Aurora and Wildlife Tour
September 6th – 13th
Lodge based ‘soft adventure’tour. Similar to our Spring Wildlife Tour (Trip 3), with the added bonus of fall colors and northern lights.
This tour begins in Fairbanks with a visit to the acclaimed University of Alaska Museum of the North and relaxing soak at Chena Hot Springs. The yellows, golds, and reds of fall are everywhere, and at night we will hope to see the magical northern lights (it does not get dark enough mid-summer to see the aurora). Next we head south for a wildlife bus safari deep into Denali National Park. After exploring Denali we head south to Anchorage and ride the Alaska railroad to Seward for a spectacular whale and wildlife watching cruise in Kenai Fjords National Park. Finally we head back to Anchorage, exploring Exit Glacier and visiting the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center along the way.
