Today we are Flying Wild Alaska! We will be flying on a mix of small planes. The largest may be a 37 seater and the smallest may be a 5 passenger Cesna 206. Our flying route will probably take us through the remote outposts of Unalakleet (home base in Flying Wild Alaska) and St. Marys village.

• 07:00 pm Arrive Nome
Nome does not seem to know that the wild west era is long gone, but you will feel the spirit of that era in the wild bars the line Nome's Front Street along the Bering Sea coast! Like Alaska's many other unique locations - including all those featured in this far flung itinerary, Nome must be experienced to be believe. Maybe we will even see Russia!
Kotzebue is a large Inupiaq Eskimo community on a remote spit of land in Kotzebue sound. While the town does not make much effort to cater to tourists, it is an interesting place to view an authentic Arctic community in the crossroads of thousands of years of a traditional subsistence hunting culture and young Inupiaq people who both hunt and follow American urban youth culture.
• 01:19pm Depart Nome
• 02:03 pm Arrive Kotzebue
Our last remote outpost is Barrow, the northernmost community in the USA. We are now very far north of the Arctic Circle and on the Arctic Ocean coast! If you need darkness to sleep, hopefully brought eye shade because the sun does not set here for a few months each summer! you will be amazed by the jumbled Arctic Sea ice and ready evidence that the Inupiaq Eskimos of Barrow are modern people while fully engaging in traditional hunting activities.
