| What is the group size on your Out in Alaska adventures? |
| Generally, 5-8 people. We can arrange larger custom group tours. |
| Are your trips open to men and women? Straight friends? |
| Our trips are open to all members of the LGBT community and our friends. Due to our small group size, one trip could easily be all men or all women. If you are particular about who you travel with, send us an email and we can help you pick the right trip based on group composition. |
| If I am traveling alone, do I need to pay the single supplement? |
| Only if you require your own room. Otherwise we will arrange a roommate for you and you will pay the regular price. |
| Are these trips all couples? All singles? |
| They are a mix of both. |
| What is the age range of your guests? |
| 18 – 70+ (assuming that folks are in good physical condition). Gay and lesbian family trips can be arranged on a custom basis. Please contact us if you are interested in arranging a custom trip |
| How do I get to Alaska? |
|
Most major airlines fly to Alaska. Many of our trips start and end in different cities (Anchorage or Fairbanks) and not all the major airlines fly to Fairbanks. If you need help, we can arrange a one way flight between Fairbanks and Anchorage on local carrier Frontier Flying. If you are traveling with your partner, consider signing up for an Alaska Airlines mileage credit card—Their Platinum and Signature cards include a $100 companion fare ticket each year that you can use to fly to Alaska! Sign up for the card ASAP!

| How active are the trips? Can I handle it? |
|
YES! Our trips vary greatly in activity level - from very limited activity on our sightseeing "Tours" to moderately active to strenous on our backpacking Adventures. Click here to see our Trip Selector Chart which compares all of our trips by major attributes - including activity level. We have a trip perfect for almost anyone. For folks with limited mobility, one of our scenic Alaska cruises would be the best option. Due to our small group size, each of our land trips can be adjusted somewhat in their activity level. We do recommend getting in good shape before your trip - the better shape you are in, the more you can explore and experience Alaska! |
| What should I bring? How should I prepare? What is the weather like? |
|
We will send you a trip-specific detailed packing list two months or more before your trip. Alaska’s weather is unpredictable and changeable. Summer time high temperatures range from 55-85 in the Interior to 50-75 on the coast. Sunny weather is common, but rain is possible at anytime; storms increase in frequency and duration in late July and August. With warm layers and a good rain coat (we have rain coats and rain pants that we can loan you), you will have a great time regardless of weather.
